    Tactile is proud to announce newtFTP - the first standalone FTP client for the Newton platform.
    Finally, you can connect directly to an Internet FTP server using NIE and download the packages and files you need. Rename or delete files and folders. Create new directories. NewtFTP is full featured. You can maintain your FTP site from the palm of your hand.

    Version 2.0 brings the ability to upload files. Unicode to ASCII conversion lets you edit web pages on your Newton and upload revised copies. In addition to uploading packages you can also upload any Newton object. Send a new contacts Name Card to the FTP server so your colleagues can download it.

    Once you have connected to your FTP server, the browser displays a list of available folders and files. The browser window looks like this:



    Columns can be sorted in ascending or descending order, resized and reordered. Note the slider control for moving down through the list.

    You can get information about a file by tapping on it. newtFTP can detect and install Newton packages for you:



    Naturally, newtFTP supports a rotated screen letting you see more about each item in the browser list:
