xWord Buddy is a crossword player for Newton 2.x systems. It reads .puz files saved in the Across Puzzle (tm.) format. They can be found at the LitSoft Crossword Gallery... You can find additional files at the NYTimes web site... and Terry Cleveland's web site LitSoft also have translators which will allow you to convert other formats, like USAToday's to this format. Because of copyright concerns, we're including one lousy crossword puzzle we wrote with the help of a Java application in about 30 minutes. Also included are puzzles from Terry Cleveland and Caspian. Thanks guys! New in 2.0: xWord Buddy is now based on the NewtApp framework. This allows it to be 35k smaller than the 1.x version even after we add many new features. We have added support for printing and completely redesigned the prefs. The puzzle viewer has also been revamped, and handwriting recognition has been greatly improved. The overall speed of the app has been increased and there are several performance options in the prefs (see Prefs below.)
